La Oficina de Relaciones Internacionales se permite transmitir la siguiente información para investigadores en el área de cardiovascular. Los interesados deben aplicar antes del 30 de septiembre de 2005.
This program offers training for young researchers in the area of cardiovascular diseases under the tutorial of highly experienced scientists in the field at the Center for Cardiovascular Research
(http://www.ccr.charite.de).
Its research focus is to better understand the molecular mechanisms and the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease and to provide new strategies for the treatment of widespread diseases such as hypertension, myocardial infarction, and heart and renal failure. Research projects apply systematic and hypothesis-driven approaches in molecular, cellular and physiological biology focusing on the heart, the kidney and the vascular wall. The scientific focus of the program will be on:
(i) Gender-specific aspects of cardiac function and dysfunction
(ii) Molecular mechanisms of endothelial dysfunction in cardiovascular disease, and
(iii) New strategies in the prevention and treatment of myocardial infarction.
Talented and highly motivated researchers holding or expecting a national university degree in natural sciences or medicine (e.g. Diploma, Master´s) are eligible for admission to the program and invited to apply before 30th September 2005 for an approximate start date beginning of 2006. Eligible researchers originate from the Member States of the EU, the Candidate Countries and the Associated States. In addition, Third country researchers can apply as well.
Candidates will be invited to interviews held in Berlin towards end of October 2005. Applications should be sent by mail or e-mail to the coordinator of the program:
