Open position for a PhD student

The Calcium Signalling Group immediately offers an open PhD position in a project funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft in the framework of the collaborative research group "Signalling mechanisms in the healthy and diseased heart (FOR 604)".

In this project entitled Role of the nucleotides cyclic ADP-ribose, ADP-ribose and NAADP in local and global Ca2+ signaling in mouse cardiac myocytes we aim to analyze novel aspects of the role of cADPR by a combination of cellular and molecular approaches (see J. Biol. Chem. 280, 15952-9, 2005; J. Biol. Chem. 280, 21394-9, 2005; Curr. Mol. Med. 4, 239-248, 2004; Curr. Med. Chem. 11, 847-855, 2004; J. Cell Sci. 117, 2141-2149, 2004; J. Cell Biol. 163, 837-845, 2003; J. Biol. Chem. 277, 50636-50642, 2002; Nature 398, 70-73, 1999).

Ideally we expect very good practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of molecular signal transduction that you have acquired during your studies in biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, biology or related disciplines.

If you want to contribute your engagement into a young and motivated team, we are looking forward to receiving your application. It should contain your CV, copies of certificates, list of methods, at least one (better two) letter(s) of reference, list of publication (if applicable). Please send your application to (applications by e-mail welcome):
