Program of Studies:
This workshop will examine the concept of risk-situations which could place children at risk: poperty, disease, one parent family situations as well as such phenomena as being street children and refugees. People who are responsible for the children, the means of helping children who are at risk; ways of treating and supporting the child/family, alternative homes, programs for rehabilitation; involvement of the various sectors of health, education, welfare, law-enforcement, community.
Requirements for Admission:
This workshop is open to men and women between 30-48 years of age, educators - principals and supervisors of pre-school, 1st and 2nd grades, policy makers responsible for their countries' Education for All (EFA) process, psychologists, social and community workers. Candidates should have completed academic studies or relevant professional training in early childhood education, social and community work. They should have at least 7 years experience in the field. Preference will be given to teams of professionals coming from the same setting. A good command of spoken and written English is essential.
